Everware Joins the Legacy Innovation Group Consortium

Sees Customer Benefits to Providing Tool Interoperability and Best Practices for the Modernization of Legacy Applications

FAIRFAX, VA - September 22, 2003 – Everware, a leader in the provisioning of software solutions using component and service-oriented architectures and related services for the Global 2000, announced today its role as a founding member of the Legacy Innovation Group, a consortium composed of information technology firms to guide product development and customer-focused services based upon industry best practices for modernizing legacy applications.

Representatives from leading consulting and technology vendors have joined with Everware as founding members of the Legacy Innovation Group. Other founding members include: ASG, Fair Isaac, Knowledge Partners and Soamaï. Everware brings to the group considerable expertise in the development of enterprise component architectures and practical experience in successfully transitioning legacy applications to modern platforms using component-based, service-oriented architectures.

“Companies are challenged to manage all the changes required to modernize their legacy applications,” said ASG Senior Director of Product Management Barbara Errickson-Connor. “This consortium will define the steps needed to accelerate the modernization process. As a team, we’ll work together to ensure tools, methodologies and best practices are seamlessly integrated.”

Warren Ellmore, President of Everware added: “We’re excited about the potential of an engineered, integrated approach to modernizing legacy applications for our customers. The challenge of leveraging legacy assets is significant and has traditionally required a sizable investment in time and cost to tackle. The goals of the LIG consortium are targeted at reducing that investment and improving modernization results.”
